Savvy Seniors - 9 News Adelaide

An Adelaide job agency is proving mature-age unemployed are never too old to go back to work.
Channel 9 News came into DOME office to film a magazine segment for the news.
The segment reported on how DOME helped the employer John Murphy from Statewide Tyres get the job he is now in, about 15 years ago, and how Ray Davies is seeking DOME's assistance to gain employment.

DOME 2014 AGM – Report

The DOME Annual General Meeting was held on the 24th of October and we had the pleasure of Richard Scolin – Manager, Workforce Development Skills Employment and Higher Education of the Department as our keynote speaker.

Also present was David Pisoni - the Shadow Minister for Employment, Skills and Education.

 


 
DOME Executive Director, Greg Goudie reported on the strong performance of DOME in assisting many mature age unemployed into employment. Again this year we had increased demand on our services with close to 1,000 people registering to seek employment. We were able to directly assist about 400 of those into work.

Through the Skills For All program we were able to offer training to this disadvantaged group to allow them to learn new skills or develop new ones to gain employment.
